November 22, 2024
Please be advised of the Heavy Snowfall Warning of 15-25cm expected late afternoon and into the evening for our area. Please prepare and plan accordingly. If a storm does arrive, the graders will not be out until it subsides. This is to ensure we do not over extend our staff and resources while the storm is active.

November 21, 2024
Please continue to use Caution for Travel on RM Roads. The graders have been out, however there still are areas with drifts and large amounts of accumulated snow. Please understand that the crews are focused on opening roads, and will address cleanup after that has been completed. If they happened to leave a windrow on your driveway, please understand they are doing their best and are not being intentional. I hope everyone can appreciate the efforts being made in an unprecedented snowfall event and come together to help one another and understand the limitations we all have during these events.

TRAVEL WITHIN THE RM NOT RECOMMENDED on ANY ROADS
Please stay home, and off the roads at this time as the graders were parked yesterday due to storm. They have gone out early this morning to help alleviate stuck vehicles, target high traffic areas, and high population density roads.
Please still continue to stay off the roads at this time as the wind is blowing the snow back in as fast as it is removed. Sections of Twp Rd 402 and Twp Rd 412 will not be opened. Please see maps below under November 19.

OFFICE CLOSURE - DUE TO STORM
WINTER STORM & NEW SNOW REMOVAL POLICY IN EFFECT
After the RM's first regular meeting of Council on November 18, 2024, a new Snow Removal Policy has been adopted. As such, our graders and operators will not be actively plowing snow until storms and winds subside to increase efficiency and use of our resources.
Also two sections of road will no longer be maintained during the winter, and will be closed.
This includes a 4 mile section of Twp Rd 402 and a 1 mile section of Twp Rd 412, see maps below.

Please bear this in mind when planning routes and travel within the RM, and please be patient and respectful to staff during this transition period. The main roads, not necessarily bus routes, are typically opened first, with one pass. The secondary roads are then opened when the grader returns for their second pass to complete the main roads. After all roads are opened, the grader operators will address any custom work requests.
